Inauguration of MGL’s City Gate Station at Mahape

Augmentation of MGL’s Gas Distribution Network

Mahanagar Gas Limited augmented it’s gas distribution network with the commissioning of permanent and high capacity skid of it’s 2nd City Gate Station at Mahape.

Mr. R.D. Goyal, Director (Projects), GAIL (India) Ltd. in the presence of Mr. V.C. Chittoda, Managing Director, MGL and other senior officials of GAIL and MGL inaugurated this new facility on 28th December 2011.

MGL’s 2nd City Gate Station at Mahape, Navi Mumbai provides direct connectivity with GAIL’s Dahej- Uran gas transmission pipeline (DUPL) and the National Gas Transmission System. This has enhanced security of gas supplies to MGL’ s integrated gas supply network, through two feeder lines i.e. one at City Gate Station (CGS) at Wadala, Mumbai and another at  this CGS, thus benefiting MGL’s over 7.5 lakh Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) consumers across Mumbai, Thane, Mira Bhayander and especially MGL’s consumers in Navi Mumbai.

MGL is increasing its reach in its present areas of operations and putting in best efforts for fast spread of the availability of natural gas in its authorized areas of Kalyan–Dombivali, Ambernath- Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Bhivandi, Panvel, Kharghar and Taloja. Efforts are being made for expeditious commissioning of two more City Gas Stations i.e. the feeder lines, one at Taloja and another at Ambernath to further strengthen the security of gas supplies and improve the pressure profile at far ends, thereby further strengthening the gas distribution network.
